Full Immersion - Sound Bath with Gongs

Friday night at Whole Woman Health's Event for the Full Moon, we glided deep into waves of sound, completely immersed, completely supported ... gently lulled by the rhythm of the Gongs.
It was a particularly deep session, some people commented.

We were each given a scarf infused with the calming fragrance of Sandalwood Oil, we had pillows for comfort and blankets for warmth, and candles threw soft shadows.
Some people experienced clarity, others emotional release, and some drifted into deep sleep. Others had images from their childhood surface.
Vibrations from the Gongs move well throughout your body, because we're mostly water.
Every cell gets a 'shake-up'.
We can release things we've been hanging onto, or things we've pushed down.
Blockages can unblock, allowing your body to heal. Toxins can be released and problems can be resolved.  Aches and pains can ease or even disappear.

 What people said ...

"Debbie, each gonging experience relaxes my mind so profoundly, that I wake feeling deeply rested and clear. Tonight though created a stillness like no other which invited and allowed the vibrations to my core and very root. Thank you again for your relaxing and calming voice and manner."

"Thank you for such a deep, nurturing and beautiful experience."

We gather twice a month at Whole Woman Health Perth in Attadale.
I will also come to your group, wherever it may be, in Perth or the country.
You can put together a group of friends or colleagues and I'm happy to do 'one-offs' or we can make it a regular thing.
If you'd like to 'be Gonged' please message me or leave a comment. I'd love to hear from you!

Healing Hands

'Healing hands' put to scientific test

The ancient art of healing through touch will be subjected to scientific scrutiny for the first time in Britain. The mysterious effects of "therapeutic touch" - a modern version of spiritual healing - will be compared with those of orthodox modern medicine.

Free Healing

Nature is a healer ...
go for a walk, sit in the sun, admire a tree, watch a bird, smell a flower, feel the breeze, taste the rain ...
I had time to work in the garden in the sunshine today. The next-door-neighbour's new puppy was frolicking, happy to be on the grass in the sun ... (brand new world for him) ... no need to explain joy, he was full of it. The flowers were out and the bees were happy. I even took my jumper off because carting mulch was making me hot. The rich smell of it was gorgeous. I think that nature is a joy we can connect to from the heart, if we can find the time to be in it, experience it with all our senses (no thinking) and just simply love it ...

Article from the Evening Standard, London (2016)

Come On Feel the Noise

The Evening Standard's photo.

Listen up, meditation is over.  The silent type that is.  No longer is the OMM crowd counting breaths in darkened rooms; the hottest way to get head space is by hitting up a “sound bath”.  Thankfully, there’s no actual bathing involved, just a gong, some tuning forks and a Tibetan singing bowl or two.
For the uninitiated, a sound bath is a healing therapy that uses sound to induce a meditative state.  The result?  Intense relaxation and a Zen life, man.  According to so-called sound healers, the vibrations can reduce stress and pain, lower your heart rate and relieve anxiety.
Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan of the practice (natch), which has been around for thousands of years.  But only recently is the gong shedding hippy status.  Sound baths are popping up all over.  We’re not only going gaga for gongs – the demand for “noisy meditation” has never been greater: head to Mantra Lounge or Nikki Slade’s kirtan classes at Triyoga and you’ll find scores of Londoners getting their chant on.

So what gives? Surely, in an age of constant stimulation, we need less sound? On the contrary, says Kwali Kumara, a kundalini and gong meditation teacher at Triyoga. “Unlike other forms of meditation, sound baths are easily accessible. The gong shuts down the ego point blank and nothing can override it. You can’t help but fall into a deep relaxation.”  (My italics)
"The gong is one of the oldest instruments in the world, yet it was only in the seventies that this kind of meditation took off," says Kumara. “Yogi Bhajan introduced kundalini yoga to the West and started running sound baths to help drug addicts’ nervous systems recover from abuse, so the gong became an integral part of kundalini yoga. It’s a great way to take your practice a bit deeper. But even those who don’t want the physical exertion of a yoga class can come and have a spiritual experience.”

My New Facebook Page

My first post on my brand new FB page ... 'bout time I did it!

What might you ask is Intuitive Healing? Good question. For a more detailed explanation go to my website and have a peek
youcanfeelbetter.blogspot.com.au
Basically it is like Reiki, which means Life Force. It's a gentle, perfectly safe way of channelling Life Force to you. It helps you and your body to heal itself (no-one can heal you ... it's you and your miraculous self who do it from within)
And it helps you feel GOOD!
Some comments ...
"Healing sessions with Debbie have been a wonderful part of my personal growth. I strongly believe that when we are looking for answers, they will often appear. At a time when I really needed to visit some old issues from my past which were standing in the way of my wellbeing, it seemed that Debbie appeared with her intuitive touch.
Sometimes there was a lot to be said and at other times my healing took the form of a quiet meditation. It is a great feeling physically, mentally and spiritually to experience the flow of healing energy through your body.
I have felt surprised at times, when thoughts and feelings which I didn't realize I was hanging onto, seemed to almost dislodge and release. Other times, I have felt at a crossroads with a decision or a way to deal with a particular situation, and healing sessions have given me direction. I would encourage anyone to experience and enjoy the feelings of wellbeing that come from a healing session with Debbie."
Nicole Parsons, Canberra Act
"Debbie is such a warm, sensitive and safe person to heal with. Debbie's healing hands, intuition and spiritual connections are amazing as she gently guides the healing. Debbie is a very gifted lady and I would recommend her to anyone looking for healing and guidance. I felt blessed that our paths crossed in such a wonderful way. The healing with Debbie was insightful and profound and left a resonating feeling of peace and centredness. Thank you Deb."
Emma Jerrett, Denmark WA
"A healing by Debbie is a true bliss. She brings you to a state of total relaxation in which healing can take place best. Debbie is the perfect person to feel safe with so you can let go. I could stay in that relaxed state for ages, forgetting daily hassles; just be. I found her reading really helpful to get insight into where you're at. For me it is the ultimate experience of relaxing, decharging, recharging and healing. Thanks Debbie; you're fab!
Carine Heuvel, Netherlands
"Thank you Deb. A very powerful healing from a gifted soul. It was gentle and profound all in the same moment. The connection with spirit wind that Deb has creates a gentle healing with lightness of spirit that moves through the soul, having the feeling of trust in such a lovely soul. I felt much freeness within myself and a completeness of one's journey. Deb works with her guides very well; she listens with a compassionate heart and I would recommend Deb to anyone. Blessings to you Deb and thank you."

Lazy Sunday Afternoon Sound Bath with Gongs

"We are slowed down sound and light waves,
a walking bundle of frequencies tuned into the cosmos.
We are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments
and our bodies are the instruments through which our souls play their music."
Albert Einstein
Come and surrender your 'walking bundle of frequencies' to the harmonies and vibrations of the beautiful Gongs.  Slooooow dooown ...
It's tune-up time!

Here's what Whole Woman Health says ...

Another sound treat for us this coming Full Moon… Come and be gonged!
Celebrating life at the fullness of the moon, and it’s relating fullness within us all.

The lovely Debbie Boon will be offering us a sound bath experience of gonging.
The experience lasts for an hour and from previous experience we can share that apart from the intoxicating sound experience, the vibrations from this sound have a profound effect of stilling the mind; by the end it I felt as though all thoughts had ceased and the depth of relaxation was like no other.

If you would like to try this experience for the first time, or come again, you are invited and welcome to our Full Moon Gathering and Gonging Session next Friday evening.
Arrive at 6.45 for a 7pm start.
Although there will be a rug beneath you and blankets available, if you would like to bring your own blanket/cushion to get into your own personal cosy space, please do!
A maximum of 12 spaces, so register soon to be sure you’re in.
Your investment for this amazing experience is $25 which includes masala chai/ tea and snack afterward.
As we usually do in our gatherings, we will first come together in a circle to welcome.
There will be a clear, brief explanation of the evening, and post-gonging you will be guided back into grounding yourself well into your body before rising to sitting once again. Then a warm cuppa and some snacks if you like!

We both look forward to hosting a relaxing & nourishing Full Moon sound experience for you to journey away with.
Narelle & Debbie

A Bit About Gongs

Gongs come in all sizes,

from tiny little dinner gongs and wind chimes to 80" diameter gongs.  That's 203cm or more, almost 8ft across ... enormous!
They have different surface finishes, different rims and different tones or sounds; they come smooth, dimpled or striated and there are various companies that make them.

My gongs are made by the Paiste Company which is family owned and operated and whose story began in 1901 in Russia ... you can click on the link to find out more about them.

Their company and their name is recognized worldwide and their gongs and cymbals are played in orchestras and bands throughout the world.  Their sound quality is undisputed.

Did you know that the Gong is named after the sound it makes?

First Gong Session in Perth

First Gong Session in Perth

Thank you to those who came to my first Gonging Session in Perth, it was a pleasure to have you in my home.

My new gongs performed beautifully, weaving their soothing, healing harmonies.  Here's what one lovely client reported:

"Have had severe pain in neck, left arm, shoulder blade and shoulder, no sleep for five days.  Had severe pain during the session.  Now I have no pain, can move my arm freely and will hang onto that feeling as long as I can.". Cheryl Dixon

This is in no way to suggest that whatever ails you can be fixed ... but with deep relaxation and with sound vibration travelling through your body, things happen!

Coming Soon!

Have you ever heard of a Gong Session?
(Follow this link to see where I trained and worked prior to coming to Perth)

How does this sound...

You lie down on comfortable 5cm mats with pillows and blankets to snuggle into...

You're given a silken scarf infused with sandalwood oil; it's yours to keep...

You close your eyes and begin to sink into relaxation as your body releases its tension...

Change (or How to Deal with Leaving Denmark)

This post was composed over a year ago.  It's been sitting in draft form waiting for me to push the publish button.  I haven't until now because it's taken me this long to even think about working again.  Change is a biggie!  And last year was full of them for me, maybe you too?

Anyway, I followed my own advice (below) and sought some help as well.  Feeling much better now.  Here's the post from back then...

Child Within

Ooops!  I've had a little break because of school holidays.

School holidays.  It's so nice to just stop the routine of rush, rush, rush in the morning - of preparing the school lunch box, of trying to resolve the eternal question of what to put in the school lunch box, of hurtling around tornado style from fridge to bathroom to bedroom to stove, answering the questions flying at you while preparing breakfast,  'Muuuuuum, where are my socks?, 'Muuuuum, why haven't I got any clean undies?' - and all the while barking out your own set of questions - 'Have you brushed your teeth?  Where's your lunch box?  Have you seen the time?!  Are you still in the shower?  Why haven't I got your lunch box yet?'  And then finally, as you're flying out the door yelling 'Hurry up we're going to be late again', there are the final two questions; 'How come you didn't clean your teeth? and 'Where's your lunch box?'  Aaaah parenthood.

Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde said  "Most people are other people.  Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."

He was never one for holding back.  And though I hate to admit it, that quote makes me squirm!  I know I've been guilty of mimicking in order to fit in, be accepted, not stand out.  I know I've adopted others' opinions before, not even knowing what my own were at the time.  And my passions?  When I look back on my life, I can see it's taken me a while to discover where mine lay.  Thanks Oscar!

What To Do With Anger

I was having a coffee with a friend the other day in downtown beautiful Denmark ... something I can recommend for feeling better by the way.  Don't you love a good coffee and a good friend to share it with?  It's one of my favourite things to do.

The subject of anger came up, and I want to talk about it today because left unresolved, anger can be the cause of simmering resentment, bitterness and envy; it can wreck marriages and careers, it can separate us from our friends and family; it can fester as an underlying, all-pervading unhappiness; and it can make us sick.

Diets? Not another One

Nooo I hear you scream as you reach for the exit button.  Who needs to hear about a new diet?  Just kidding.  I don't want to talk about a food diet today, I want to talk about what we feed our minds.  Don't get me wrong; what we eat is important and of course we should do the best we can for our beautiful bodies that serve us so faithfully each and every day.
But what do we feed our minds?  Do we really know?

New Name, New Purpose

Hello, thanks for visiting  :o)   This is my new and updated blog, with a new title and a new purpose!

The reason for the change?  My blog used to be called Hands-on Healing Denmark, but I wasn't happy with it.  Was it transforming anybody's day or even just helping someone feel a little bit better?  I don't think so.
